’Tis the season to be merry—and to watch out for fraud.
Family visits during the holidays are a prime time to make sure aging relatives are managing all right on their own. For an estimated 282,000 family caregivers in West Virginia, this can be challenging, as they consider how to help loved ones continue to live at home.
Many residents age 50-plus share common goals: They want Washington, D.C., to be a livable community for people of all ages. They want supportive services for an estimated 75,000 unpaid family caregivers. And they want a strong nest egg for retirement.
State legislators will be back in session in May, and AARP North Carolina is gearing up to advocate for the state’s 1.3 million unpaid family caregivers, who save the state money on long-term care costs.
Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) has joined a global network of higher education institutions committed to developing programs to serve the needs of an aging population.
