To mark the 60th anniversary of AARP and support our wellness and healthy living initiatives, AARP has committed to opening 53 AARP-sponsored fitness parks over the next three years—one in every state, plus D.C., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. AARP is working with national nonprofit, FitLot, who will construct over a dozen outdoor fitness parks in 2019.
The grant will be used to activate alleyway surrounding the existing 90-foot historic mural with entertainment space, benches, green space, lighting, and movable furniture

MicroLife Institute coordinated this special housing/ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units) event that focused primarily on educating people about the benefits to what a livable and walkable micro-village looks like. Will Johnston (Executive Director for MicroLife) in partnership with the Pinewood Forest’s builder, architect and county’s leadership organized the event that attracted 100+ people.
