In a joint AARP-POLITICO poll released today, Florida voters age 50 and over do not feel better off financially despite a growing economy. The poll also found that Social Security and health care will be very important to 50-plus voters when they cast ballots for Congress in the mid-term elections, and they are deeply concerned about the future of Medicare. 
Roughly 3 million Floridians care for older parents, spouses, children and adults with disabilities, or other loved ones, helping them to live independently in their homes and communities, where they want to be.
Hurricane season starts in June, and AARP Florida is encouraging everyone to be prepared. Residents should consider whether their health would suffer without air conditioning or fresh water, and should have at least three days’ worth of supplies.
Tallahassee, Fla. – Millions of Florida residents will find their 2018 Memorial Day weekend affected by Sub-Tropical Storm Alberto, the first named storm of the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season. For Floridians 50-plus, it is important to take the storm’s risks seriously, AARP’s top state official in Florida said Saturday.

Visitors to the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum will be entertained and informed during a colorful commemoration of our nation’s military history and Palm Beach County’s veterans. Displays and presentations will share the county’s role in American war efforts and local battles fought on native soil.
