Building on the success of its previous fraud prevention efforts, AARP Minnesota is recruiting volunteers to expand the AARP Fraud Watch Network into rural parts of the state.

Once again, AARP Minnesota will sponsor the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, as the event expands this year to three days, June 22-24. More than a dozen world-class acts will play in parks and clubs across St. Paul as part of the 19th annual festival.
This spring, let AARP Minnesota buy you a beer. We’re partnering with local breweries for multiple AARP On Tap events, and you won’t want to miss out. These events are great opportunities for those who want to meet and connect with other members, learn more about AARP, or just enjoy a free brewery tour. Help AARP fight hunger in the Twin Cities while you enjoy some local craft beer. Make sure to bring a non-perishable food donation, and in exchange, we’ll treat you to a beer. AARP is working with Pollen Midwest, a nonprofit organization that promotes community building, to create the second annual Minnesota 50 Over 50 list. The crowd-sourced list will honor 50 Minnesotans 50 or older who are making a difference in their community.

Jazz musicians will draw fans to several locations across St. Paul, June 23-25, for the 18th Annual Twin Cities Jazz Festival. Headliners this year include Ellis Marsalis, Delfeayo Marsalis, Russell Malone, Michael Franti and Joey Alexander. AARP Minnesota is the main sponsor of the three-day celebration.
SAINT PAUL—AARP Minnesota has announced the appointment of Kate Schaefers as its new State President-- the highest state-level volunteer position within the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that has nearly 660,000 members statewide. Schaefers, a licensed psychologist and consultant, will begin the two-year role immediately.
AARP State Director Will Phillips and Volunteer State President Jim Scheibel announced a new team of Executive Council members today. Executive Council members will advise the AARP Minnesota state office and serve as ambassadors for various AARP initiatives. On behalf of its more than 652,000 members AARP Minnesota is focused on; supporting family caregivers, increasing financial security, fighting fraud, helping people connect with their passions and ensuring that Minnesota communities are prepared to support an aging population.
