The Missouri Legislature returns to Jefferson City, MO, the State’s Capital, for the 2020 Legislative Session. During the next 5 months our state’s lawmakers will be focusing on the state’s budget and dealing with a host of contentious issues. AARP, will be right there advocating for 50+ and the communities that they live in.
AARP is backing a bill that would help workers save money from their paychecks. Other legislative priorities include property-tax reassessment, utility rates, home- and community-based services, and protecting the circuit breaker tax credit.

AARP Missouri hosted a Access Live event on October 8, 2019 to educate the 50+ population about securities fraud, and also the importance of voting in every election in Missouri. The event featured Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft who explained his role as it relates to regulating the securities industry and managing the voting system for the entire state.
