Dust off your hiking shoes and join us for a ribbon cutting and a guided walk along the Batchelder Mill Road Trails in Concord, featuring signage provided by AARP New Hampshire!
As part of a nationwide project, AARP New Hampshire worked with Manchester’s Parks and Recreation Department to open a fitness park in Derryfield Park. Over the next several years, AARP plans to sponsor a fitness park in every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. FitLot, a national nonprofit, will construct over a dozen parks in 2019, which will include FitLotTM exercise equipment that can be adapted to meet a wide range of ages, fitness levels and abilities.
Manchester’s Parks and Recreation Department has released the fall dates for 2018’s “Walk for your Health” program. This walking group is open to people of all ages who want to get out in the fresh air, exercise and meet new friends!
AARP is pleased to welcome Londonderry as the latest member of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities. As the newest community to sign on to the network, Londonderry’s civic leaders will have access to global resources and information on age-friendly best practices, models of assessment and implementation, and the experiences of towns and cities around the world.
