AARP New York proudly celebrates Black History Month and we are excited to bring you a multitude of virtual events right to the comfort of your own home!
This month, we’re excited to bring back Chefs Jay and Qui Harvey for a four-part Healthy Soul Food Cooking show to learn how to make delicious soul food using healthy ingredients and substitutes. You can learn about what community leaders are doing in your community and we’ll conclude the celebration with personal video messages from influencers on the importance of celebrating Black History Month.

1. Healthy Soul Food: Chefs Jay & Qui Harvey
February 22, 2022 – February 25, 2022 | 6pm EST
In this cooking series, the chefs will demonstrate healthier ways to cook popular Soul Food dishes, reminisce about childhood memories of how each dish was prepared in their families and provide tips that support healthy cooking and consumption to make the dishes just as flavorful and enjoyable.

2. Community Leaders
This February, we’re honoring leaders, like Hope Harley from the Bronx Children's Museum, who is "educating children in the Bronx on their community history. We want to recognize her and all leaders who take action to give back and help build up their communities.
