EN ESPAÑOL | NEW YORK – Older voters represent the most powerful voting bloc in New York elections, and are likely again to play a pivotal role in tomorrow’s primaries across the state, as suggested by voter turnout for the recent bellwether special election to replace ousted Representative George Santos in New York’s 3rd Congressional District, according to a new AARP New York-commissioned report released today.
The 1970s were a golden era of filmmaking so it’s fitting that AARP presents a film series celebrating their golden anniversary. The free event also marks a community theater celebrating its 50th!
ALBANY, N.Y. – AARP New York State Director Beth Finkel issued this statement today after the state Assembly failed to pass legislation (A.7954-A) that would create a wholesale prescription drug importation program to import lower-cost medications from Canada. AARP New York and over 30 community-based organization across the state asked the Assembly Speaker to support and pass the legislation.
ALBANY, N.Y. – AARP New York State Director Beth Finkel issued the following statement today on passage in both houses of the New York State Legislature of a bill (S.8760/A.9369) that would automatically enroll eligible older individuals receiving low-cost prescription drug benefits into a federal program that helps with utility costs.
