CARY, NC – AARP North Carolina provided the Cary-based US Veterans Corps with a one-thousand dollar contribution today to help support their disaster relief efforts for flood victims in South Carolina.
RALEIGH --Working to improve the personal savings rates for people of all ages, over 20 local church leaders were introduced today to a first-of its kind financial stewardship curriculum to improve financial security in communities of color.

GREENSBORO -- Oxford resident James A. Wall Sr., former president of AARP North Carolina, was honored with AARP’s Andrus Award for Community Service for his work to improve the health and financial security of North Carolinians. The Andrus Award, presented to Wall at the AARP Multicultural Outreach Awards Ceremony, is the association's most prestigious volunteer tribute recognizing outstanding individuals who are sharing their experience, talents and skills to enrich the lives of others.
GREENSBORO -- Six North Carolina organizations were presented with the 2015 AARP Multicultural Outreach Award in recognition for their work in promoting greater health and economic prosperity for all.
GOLDSBORO – In appreciation for military families and veterans, AARP will be exhibiting at Wings over Wayne 2015, May 16-17, providing information and support to help people live healthier and more financially secure lives. Visitors to the AARP air show exhibit at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base can participate in fun activities, receive free personal commemorative event photos, win prizes, and enter a chance to win smart tablets and VIP tickets to the Kellie Pickler concert on Saturday, May 16.*
