As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans—including many older adults—may not receive their monthly food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. While caring for a loved one can a rewarding experience, but it can also be challenging. In an effort to support family caregivers, AARP Oklahoma and area providers are hosting the Oklahoma Caregivers Conference at OU-Tulsa, 4502 East 41st Street, on November 28, 2018. The conference is free and open to the public, although registration is required.
