Starting in 2025, Medicare will implement several significant changes, some of which are thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, championed by AARP. As the landscape of Medicare continues to evolve, understanding these changes is more important than ever – especially for the one million Oregonians who rely on the program for healthcare. Here is what you need to know about some of the key changes coming up and how they might impact you.

Black History Month
Oregonians with a great idea who need a little cash to make their communities more vibrant and friendlier might get some help from AARP this year.
Women are three times as likely as men to say they can’t afford to save for retirement and in general have lower rates of financial literacy. Women also make up the majority of caregivers, and are three times more likely than men to quit their jobs to care for a family member.
The Oregon legislature convenes for a short 5-week session February 3. We are working hard to help pass a bill to create an Age Discrimination Task Force.

Clackamas – AARP Oregon praised Oregon’s entire House delegation vote today for bipartisan legislation to combat age discrimination – the “Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act” (POWADA). The House of Representatives vote approving the bill is the most important action yet in the long drive toward passage.
