In recent years, cryptocurrency scams have surged, with billions stolen annually. One of the biggest drivers of this trend? Romance scams.

Fraudsters continue to employ familiar scam tactics—such as romance scams, investment schemes, and government impersonations—but are now increasingly soliciting payments through cryptocurrency kiosks.

Scammers are continually perfecting their scams, getting more sophisticated, learning new techniques with new technology, and honing their methods to better manipulate their targets.
