This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

Newly released AARP caregiving data finds that nearly three in ten (27%) adults in Iowa are family caregivers, providing largely unpaid and unsupported care to older parents, spouses, and other loved ones.
An estimated 41% of American adults have lost money due to fraud or have had sensitive information obtained and used fraudulently. Scammers steal billions from consumers annually and fraud is a serious issue. Four North Dakota mayors and the Governor have signed proclamations recognizing August 14, 2025, as the 90th anniversary of Social Security.
Fraudulent activity involving cryptocurrency kiosks is on the rise. Cryptocurrency ATMs, also known as “crypto kiosks”, can be found in supermarkets, convenience stores, gas stations, bars, and restaurants. Crypto ATMs look like bank ATMs and allow people to conduct cryptocurrency transactions, such as sending money to digital wallets. However, they lack sufficient consumer fraud protections. As a result, criminals are using crypto ATMs to steal hundreds of millions of dollars from Americans each year.
