AARP awards grants in Texas to make communities more livable

10 communities across Florida are getting a boost in their work to become more livable for residents of all ages.
The AARP Volunteers in Prescott & Prescott Valley, AZ went shopping for healthy snacks and beverages for donation to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center’s medical and support staff that are working so hard to provide care to those in need of that care. This is one way we can show our gratitude to the YRMC workers who are instrumental in helping the area's residents during these most difficult times.
New AARP report shows 237 resident deaths occurred in Florida’s nursing homes in the four weeks ending August 22, 2021
COVID cases in nursing homes are concentrated among the unvaccinated: nationally, those residents were three times as likely to contract COVID-19 last month compared to residents who are fully vaccinated.

As part of our ongoing commitment to bring to you fun and entertaining virtual events, AARP Long Island is proud to present a virtual sing-along, Sip & Sing hosted by Bay Street Theater to bring you a fun, interactive, and FREE sing-along series. AARP members and guests are invited to join us every Friday at 5 pm starting this Spring from April 9 to May 28, 2021. We will pick up this free series in the Fall/Winter from October 1 through December 17, 2021. This is a statewide event, all are welcome to join us from upstate to downstate!
AARP Indiana has long considered its staff cohesion, communication and productivity to be strengths. But State Director Sarah Waddle knew that even good teams need help to become great. So in 2016 she reached out to Indianapolis-based coach, facilitator and speaker Deseri Garcia of Vida Aventura to help the Indiana staff take the next step.
