EN ESPAÑOL | NEW YORK — AARP New York commends the reintroduction of the Credit for Caring Act, legislation that would provide financial relief to eligible working family caregivers. The bill, co-sponsored by U.S. Representatives Mike Lawler, Nicole Malliotakis and Ritchie Torres of New York, offers up to a $5,000 nonrefundable federal tax credit to help offset caregiving expenses, addressing the significant personal and financial sacrifices caregivers make to support their loved ones. On average, family caregivers spend over $7,200 annually —26% of their income — on out-of-pocket expenses.

IN ENGLISH | NUEVA YORK — AARP New York aplaude la reintroducción del proyecto de ley Credit for Caring Act, una legislación que proporcionaría alivio financiero a ciertos cuidadores familiares que trabajan. El proyecto de ley, copatrocinado por los representantes de Estados Unidos Mike Lawler, Nicole Malliotakis y Ritchie Torres de Nueva York, ofrece un crédito fiscal federal no reembolsable de hasta $5,000 para ayudar a compensar los gastos relacionados con la prestación de cuidados, abordando los significativos sacrificios personales y financieros que los cuidadores hacen para apoyar a sus seres queridos.
