Today is National Be Heard Day. Never heard of it before? I wouldn’t be surprised. It’s a relatively new holiday created to give small businesses a chance to be heard. While there are many ways small businesses and residents can celebrate this day, AARP Georgia is honoring it by raising our voices about the retirement crisis impacting small businesses and their employees.

On Feb. 6, AARP Georgia volunteers and Associate State Director Jil Hinds, attended the first exhibition of the Georgia’s Great African Americans History Exhibit Tour at the Harriet G. Darnell Center. More than 100 seniors visited the first exhibition.
AARP Georgia, in collaboration with the Atlanta VA, is happy to present the United States Navy Concert Band, Sea Chanters Chorale and Cruisers Contemporary Music Ensemble will perform on their National Tour "Concerts on the Avenue."
The application period for the 2020 AARP Community Challenge is open! Submissions accepted through May 15 at 11:59 p.m. ET
WASHINGTON—AARP invites community organizations and local governments across the country to apply for the 2020 AARP Community Challenge grant program, now through April 1, 2020. Grants fund “quick-action” projects that can range from several hundred dollars for small, short-term activities to several thousand or tens of thousands for larger projects. Now in its fourth year, the grant program is part of AARP’s nationwide work on livable communities.
