The calls for fair prescription drug prices are growing louder across the nation, and AARP has taken a leading role in what a majority of Americans now see as a necessary fight.
The 2022 Missouri Legislative Session has come to an end. It became evident early in the session that as usual, AARP would be in the position of defending our lower income members from cuts to services or increased state taxes. Medicaid Expansion funding was also in question. Read about this an more in the attached report.
AARP New York State Director Beth Finkel released the following statement in response to today’s New York State Senate actions on prescription drug legislation:
RALEIGH – If the NC House of Representatives acts in the Short Session, state lawmakers will make substantial progress when it comes to improving both the access and affordability of health care in the state. Following many years exploring healthcare policy changes and a recent bipartisan Joint Legislative Study Committee on Access to Healthcare and Medicaid Expansion, the state Senate passed HB 149 with bipartisan and near unanimous (by one vote) support.
