Grants fund quick-action projects that help communities become more livable in the long-term by improving public spaces, transportation, housing, civic engagement, diversity and inclusion, and more.

These quick-action grants aim to help communities become more livable for people of all ages. Since 2017, AARP has awarded 24 grants totaling $256,500 to Kentucky communities.

The food drive will feature food donation bins around Sheridan decorated in the colors of the Philadelphia Eagles, with others in town wearing the Gold and Red of the Kansas City Chiefs. Donors are encouraged to make their pick for the winner of this year’s Big Game by placing their food donations in bins decorated in the colors of the team they believe will win.

The AARP Block Party makes its first stop of 2023 at the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show, March 4-12 at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Downtown Philly.

Lynchburg-area residents and AARP volunteers gathered for an in-person dinner group event for the first time since the pandemic began.

AARP, the nation’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering people 50 and older, announced today the priority issues on its 2023 Michigan Legislative Agenda. Approximately 3.9 million residents in Michigan are 50 and over, representing 39% of the state’s population.

“We weren’t supposed to be able to fly aircraft, we weren’t supposed to be able to win this competition, but we did and we were the best… Mission accomplished.”

Black History Month provides an important and timely platform to celebrate the contributions of Black Americans to their communities and our nation. During Black History Month and beyond, AARP recognizes community leaders who are dedicated to coming together to transform, uplift, and educate communities. The following community members were honored for 50 Over 50, which recognizes and celebrates 50 incredible Minnesotans over the age of 50 who are challenging outdated beliefs about aging, living life on their own terms, and improving the lives of others.
