Majorities of voters over 50 are uncertain of their own retirement and support the rapid rollout of the state’s new retirement savings plan for private-sector workers

AARP has selected Barbara Walsh to receive the 2021 AARP in The Virgin Islands Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award for community service.

AARP volunteers teaming up to deliver healthy lunches and a “Salute” thanking Kentucky National Guard for their support of the frontline hospital staff at Ohio County Healthcare.

Of the 312,000 veterans in Kentucky, only 34% used their benefits at VA health care, according to U.S. Census Bureau. AARP’s Veterans and Military Families Health Benefits Navigator is available at www.AARP.org/VetsHealthNavigator

Association also expanding multi-platform voter engagement efforts

AARP New Jersey released its 2021 Video Voter Guide today, featuring gubernatorial candidates, Jack Ciattarelli (R) and Governor Phil Murphy (D). Each candidate answered the same four questions on issues that count to older New Jerseyans, including lowering prescription drug prices, helping residents stay in their homes as they age, enhancing retirement security, and making the state a better place to grow older.

AARP Maryland is honoring exceptional Marylanders aged 50-plus for their volunteerism and commitment to service. The awards were formally presented October 7 before nearly 80 guests at a virtual ceremony.
