Grand Island is the first city in the state to join the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities.

Voters age 50 and older were the deciding factor in last year’s midterm elections, according to the National Election Pool Exit Poll results. The findings confirmed that 50-plus voters made up the majority of voters, 51 percent here in Georgia. Candidates who ignored these voters, Georgia’s most powerful voting group, paid a price on Election Day.

Tonight we will celebrate another milestone in the passage of time. 2018 will come to an end we will ring in the beginning of a new year. Whether it’s surrounded by friends with fireworks, champagne and fancy dress; or at home in our comfy clothes with our dearest loved ones, we celebrate and we remember.

AARP MN is building on several successful years of partnering with craft breweries and their local food shelves for charity. Bring a non perishable food item or make a monetary donation and AARP will buy you a craft brew and give you a tour of the brewery.
