This August, AARP will be partnering with the Pilipinx American Library (PAL) and the Asian Art Museum to celebrate and examine Filipino literature and art over a series of events. PAL is a mobile, non-circulating library that collects print histories and celebrates narratives exclusively by Filipino writers, poets, artists and scholars.

AARP has announced the awardees for its 2018 AARP Community Challenge grant program, including four recipients right here in Iowa. A total of $1.3 million will be distributed to fund 129 “quick action” projects across the country, helping communities make immediate improvements and jumpstart long-term progress to support residents of all ages. Nearly 1,600 applications were received from non-profits and government entities for the program, now in its second year.

AARP Idaho, in conjunction with the Boise Police Department, is hosting a free Consumer Fraud Workshop designed as a fun, educational and interactive event where participants learn to avoid today’s scams while getting the tools and resources they need to protect themselves.
