Once again, AARP Kentucky and AARP Tennessee are cosponsoring a Welcome Home festival for veterans. The event will run Wednesday through Sunday, Sept. 12-16, in Clarksville, Tenn., home to Fort Campbell, on the border between the two states.

We're thanking all military members and veterans who have helped defend our great nation.

AARP members across Virginia join together in local communities through independently incorporated chapters. These chapters offer informational programs, advocacy and service opportunities. You can join an AARP Chapter to meet new people, give back, and have fun. Chapter activities can include meals, cultural outings and trips, and for many, community service is a major priority. Serving in the military is giving yourself to something greater than your own wants and needs. This selflessness protects and serves us all. And while Julia Castellano-Hoyt of San Antonio may not have served in the Women’s Army Corps since 1961, she never stopped having a heart for serving others. To Julia, military service instills a desire to give back throughout one’s life.

AARP Michigan recognizes and supports our veterans

The Bayou State is home to about 287,000 military veterans, and AARP Louisiana is committed to listening to them and understanding their needs.

AARP Mississippi is inviting all Veterans in the area to attend the AARP Veterans Town Hall on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Lady Luck Casino Arena, 1380 Warrenton Road in Vicksburg. The event is free. Veterans may bring one guest. Lunch will be served.

AARP is now accepting nominations for its 2018 Mississippi Andrus Award for Community Service, which honors 50+ Mississippians who are sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members.
