During the first months of 2019, multiple counties across Alabama have seen destruction by mother nature. From tornadoes to floods, our friends and family have been affected in all corners of our state.

The AARP® Purpose Prize® Award deadline is March 31. Up to five $60K winners will be announced. The focus is on people age 50-plus whose work solves social problems, improves communities and gives back.

AARP Connecticut went in front of members of the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee on Friday, March 15, to voice concern about SB 877 (an Act Concerning Revenue Items to Implement the Governor’s Budget), which calls for a repeal of the bipartisan income tax relief promise for social security recipients, and those with pensions and annuity income. Most incumbent legislators of both parties promoted their affirmative vote to repeal this tax during the 2018 campaigns .

The Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) and AARP Montana collaboratively trained volunteers today who will educate community groups in various Montana cities about scams, fraud, and identity theft. This effort, which is believed to be the first of its kind in the nation between AARP and an attorney general’s consumer protection team, will reach more older Montanans than either organization formerly has been able to using its own staff.

AARP Volunteer Lil Keys Reaches Out to Northern Virginia’s Hispanic Community

Today, AARP announced the launch of ‘ Stop Rx Greed,’ a nationwide campaign aimed at lowering prescription drug prices. The goal of AARP’s sustained campaign is to help drive down drug prices for Mississippians and all Americans by advocating for a variety of legislative, executive, and regulatory actions at both the federal and state levels.
