Rep. Dan Hamilton, (R- Greenville) today presented a concurrent resolution to Lt. Governor Glenn F. McConnell recognizing May 9 as “Senior Hunger Day” in South Carolina. Hamilton was the chief sponsor of the house bill regarding the resolution. The Lt. Governor’s Office on Aging (LGOA) is requesting $4.7 million in the fiscal year 2014-15 state budget to serve needy seniors in their homes and $3 million in ongoing resources for respite services for caregivers.
