Vienna, VA – Leadership Fairfax (LFI) is currently accepting applications for the fall 2015 Lifetime Leadership Program (LLP.) This two month tuition based program is for the newly retired, or those close to retirement, that are seeking to utilize their knowledge and leadership to make significant contributions to the Fairfax County community. It is based on the belief that people in the second half of life can offer a wealth of experience, talent, and vitality to community initiatives, while enriching and expanding their own lives.
Roanoke _ The need for Meals on Wheels continues to grow rapidly in the Roanoke Valley. More routes have been added and thus more volunteers are needed to fill these routes. It takes 40 volunteers every day to deliver meals to 600 homebound seniors in our community.
AARP Virginia is joining with CAAB to help fight hunger in Fairfax during their annual summertime Food Drive. Please join us in addressing this important community need.
Congratulations to Jane King on being the recipient of the Annie B. Rose Lifetime Achievement Award, an Alexandria Commission on Aging 2015 Excellence in Aging Award.
