AARP has reserved a section of Brittany’s Restaurant and Sports Bar for members and their guests to enjoy dinner together. Discounted meals, which include salad and non-alcoholic drinks, are $12.00 including tax and tip. Come as you are and leave as you wish anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Nationwide, more than 8 million adults aged 50 to 64 rely on charitable food assistance to help make ends meet. Not wanting to be a burden, they often suffer in silence. They are more likely to experience chronic illnesses like Diabetes, depression, reduced muscle mass and bone density, and poor vision. You are invited to a free screening of MOONLIGHT

On Saturday evening, June 3, 2017 AARP volunteers in Roanoke staffed the pledge phone bank at Blue Ridge PBS. During this Spring Fund Drive, we were taking pledges for tickets to the Mannheim Steamroller concert in Salem, November 17. We had a great time with our American Masters/Movies for Grownups partner Blue Ridge PBS.

As movie goers entered the Grandin Theater, the AARP Roanoke Leadership Team was fast at work checking in guests, manning the information table and encouraging movie goers to participate in the Listening Post Question of the day. The question "Making Roanoke a Livable Community - Which of the eight domains would most influence the quality of life for you?" The eight choices were: Communication & Information, Community & Health Services, Respect & Social Inclusion, Transportation, Outdoor Space & Buildings, Social Participation, Housing, and Work & Civic Engagement.”
