Keeping up with the latest scams and all the red flags that warn us of each one is exhausting. Scams constantly evolve, and each comes with its own red flags to remember. But some warning signs apply to a wide range of scams, and recognizing them can help you to react safely.
As May is National Military Appreciation Month, AARP Virginia would like to feature our members who are also veterans. For the first week, we proudly introduce Suba Satyanarayan, who served in the United States Air Force for 25 years. On Sunday, April 26th, the Association for the study of African-American Life and History will host a webinar to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the African-American community. The online event will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be the first in a series of webinars designed to educate, inform, and develop the Richmond African-American community. Additionally, each webinar will feature hearing experts in the fields of mental health, medicine, human services and more. Keynote speakers for the upcoming webinar include Dr. Dennis C. Parker (Chief Operating Officer of H.O.P.E. Incorporated) and Dr. A’tasha Christian (Community Mental Health Advocate).
