As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans may not receive their monthly food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. In Wyoming, Governor Gordon has declared a public welfare emergency to ensure that food assistance continues (for now), but this can still put pressure on local organizations and food banks dedicated to feeding hungry Wyomingites.

AARP Wyoming is collecting non-perishable food items now through Thanksgiving. All donations will go directly to local food pantries, the VA, and Veterans Rock.

Non-profit organizations in Clearmont, Thermopolis, and Sheridan scored a total of four Community Challenge Grants totaling $31,000, AARP announced this fall.
Wyoming’s nursing home COVID-19 resident ratio for the four-week period ending Dec. 18, was 7.27 cases per 100 residents, which is the eighth highest in the nation and up from November’s rate of 6.7 cases per 100 residents.

The Wyoming Tribal Relations Committee will examine a bill that sets up a "Amber Alert," type of warning for missing vulnerable adults.
The Wyoming Legislature's Agriculture, State and Public Lands; Water Resource Committee is exploring what sorts of fences can be used for someone trying to share the cost with ranchers, as well as water conservation issues.
The Wyoming Legislature's Education Subcommittees have a lot on their plate in the 2023 session, discussing a lawsuit brought by the state Education Association, as well as Community College efforts.
Cale Case will step back into the position of chairman of the Senate Corporations Committee in Wyoming's 2023 legislative session.
