As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans—including many older adults—may not receive their monthly food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

Adelantar la política pública de envejecimiento activo de la Ley 121-2019 requiere propuestas legislativas integrales. Las medidas a continuación propulsadas por AARP buscan fortalecer la protección, el bienestar y la inclusión de las personas mayores. Estas propuestas también promueven igualdad en el desarrollo empresarial, mejoran la accesibilidad en servicios públicos y fomentan el aprendizaje a través de toda la vida. En conjunto, estas acciones reflejan un compromiso por construir un Puerto Rico más justo, inclusivo y preparado, en donde todos podamos alcanzar nuestros anhelos, no importa la edad.
While older driver safety is important year-round, Older Driver Safety Awareness Week is a good time to remind older drivers of the importance of safe driving habits. Typically, the first week of December, many major transportation organizations collaborate to encourage older adults, their family members, and caregivers to be proactive about discussing safe mobility and building a transportation plan.
