AARP Arkansas has planned lots of activities for members lately, and the fun continues this summer.

Small businesses employ nearly half of U.S. private-sector workers, and many employers do not offer a retirement savings plan. That’s why AARP Arkansas is urging state legislators to create a Work and Save plan.

AARP Arkansas is hosting two important Lunch and Learns regarding utility rates: one in Northwest Arkansas and another in Little Rock.

ACT 633, regarding Voter ID, requires a voter in Arkansas to “verify his or her voter registration” before casting a ballot. That means you’ll have to show some form of identification when you head to the polls.

The documentary film Hot Coffee explores the famous McDonald's hot coffee case and presents a side of the case you may not be familiar with. Filmmaker and public interest lawyer Susan Saladoff uses the legal battle that began with a spilled cup of coffee to investigate what's behind America's zeal for tort “reform.”

The Arkansas Legislative Session wrapped up its work in March with two important issues regarding health care. One, Arkansas Works, a program that uses federal funds to help low-income people buy health insurance on the private market, was approved with an appropriation to continue funding the program. Arkansas Works provides insurance coverage to over 250,000 low income Arkansans.

More than 452,000 Arkansans care for an older parent, spouse or other loved one, helping them live independently at home—where they want to be. These family caregivers take on huge responsibilities that can be overwhelming, stressful and exhausting. They juggle full- or part-time jobs, and many are still raising families.

Americans overwhelmingly want to age at home. But that can be difficult for those who need help with tasks such as bathing and preparing meals.
