The Healing Race Foundation is committed to spreading awareness about preventative health care services and motivating those affected by chronic disease to sustain healthier lifestyle behaviors. The foundation will be hosting the 1 st Annual Healing Race Weekend August 28 and 29 where you can learn more about caring for others and caring for yourself.

The first baby boomers reached retirement age in 2011 greatly increasing the population of Americans over the age of 65. Each day for the next 15 years, thousands of baby boomers will reach retirement age creating new opportunities to redefine what it means to be an older American. Viewers can watch live as government officials, older Americans and community leaders gather to discuss the current state of aging at the 2015 White House Conference on Aging July 13.

Virginia Consumer Voices for Healthcare (VCV) is dedicated to ensuring that all Virginians have access to high-quality, affordable health insurance. Their efforts to support the expansion and improvement of healthcare in Virginia include advocacy and community education and outreach. VCV will be hosting an event June 30 in Richmond titled, “Call to Action: Healthcare as a Moral Imperative,” in order to educate community members about healthcare access in Virginia.
