AARP Connecticut is hosting a multi-generational Debate Watching Party for the upcoming Gubernatorial Debate scheduled for October 23, 2014 sponsored by NBC Connecticut. The AARP Debate Watch Party begins at 5:45 p.m. at The Bijou Theatre, 275 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. The event is free and includes food and non-alcoholic beverages. AARP Connecticut is pleased to announce that Pauline N. Olsen, M.D. of Farmington, CT has been selected to receive the 2014 AARP Connecticut Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award for community service.
Once a year people who are already on Medicare have an opportunity to make changes in how they receive their benefits. If they are on Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), they can sign up for Part D coverage or move to a Medicare Advantage plan. They can also change from one Part D prescription drug plan to a different one. If they have a Medicare Advantage plan they can switch to a different plan.
There are 10 things Connecticut residents and all Americans do that put them at increased risk for identity theft according to a new AARP Fraud Watch Network study. The new report, along with recent eye-opening interviews with convicted ID thieves, reveal that Americans are falling even further behind in the fight to protect their identities as scam artists go digital.
