Residents whose homes require exterior repairs due to storm damage will be better protected from fraudulent contractors under a new law, which takes effect July 1.
As part of its Fraud Watch Network efforts, AARP Nebraska has teamed up with the Better Business Bureau and other organizations to sponsor Secure Your ID Day in Lincoln on Saturday, June 24. The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon at West Gate Bank, located at Old Cheney Road and Highway 2.
AARP wants to make sure an estimated 154,000 family caregivers in Hawaii are aware of a new law and how it affects them. The Caregiver Advise, Record, Enable (CARE) Act, which will take effect July 1, aims to improve communication between hospitals and caregivers.

Once again, AARP Minnesota will sponsor the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, as the event expands this year to three days, June 22-24. More than a dozen world-class acts will play in parks and clubs across St. Paul as part of the 19th annual festival.
