With nearly a third of its residents 55 and older, St. Petersburg is working to better address the needs of its aging population.
Long-term care is a pressing issue in the Sunshine State. Nearly 2.7 million family caregivers provide 2.5 billion hours of unpaid services annually to help their aging loved ones continue to live at home rather than placing them in nursing homes.
The healing process doesn’t end when a patient leaves the hospital. For those treated at the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center on St. Croix, the transition back home just got a little easier.
