Citizens of the Old Dominion who are over 65 or disabled don’t even need to get out of their cars to cast a ballot in this year’s contests.
Voting dates In the nation’s capital, eligible citizens can register to vote online until Oct. 16. Mailed applications must be received by the Board of Elections by the same date or in person up to and on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6.
As the general election approaches, AARP Iowa staff are educating residents on changes to voter laws, how to find their polling place and what to bring to the polls.
Michigan’s general election Nov. 6 includes races for governor, a U.S. Senate seat, all 14 U.S. House seats, 148 state legislative seats, secretary of state and attorney general.
AARP Wisconsin is recruiting volunteer advocates to represent six northern state Senate districts to help get the association’s messages across to elected officials at all levels. Tactics include contacting state and federal legislators, writing letters to the editor and taking part in town-hall meetings.
