Summertime means fun in the sun, but it also can mean high utility cost when the temperature hits those high 90s into the 100s and air conditioners start working overtime. There is the potential that consumers could see those bills go up in the fall as multiple utility companies have filed with the Wyoming Public Service Commission for rate increases.

The numbers are in, and they are impressive – Wyoming residents on Medicare saved more than $4.6 million on their prescription drugs in 2013, thanks to the closing of the “donut hole” for prescriptions under the Affordable Care Act – or an average discount per beneficiary of $756.

A ARP is seeking highly experienced AARP member volunteers to serve on the AARP Wyoming Executive Council for Casper, Goshen/Niobrara/Weston County area, Campbell/Crook County area, and Fremont County.

Open enrollment for Medicare plans runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. AARP Wyoming wants to make sure Medicare beneficiaries and their families know how to choose a plan that will best meet their needs in 2014.
