EN ESPAÑOL | White Plains, N.Y. — AARP New York was joined today by state and local officials in Westchester County to fight Con Edison’s proposal to raise its electric and gas rates by more than $2 billion. The attendees said the rate increase proposal would impose additional financial strain on hundreds of thousands of households already burdened by rising utility costs.

Caregivers provide vital services to New Yorkers, from helping with grocery shopping to meal preparation, transportation, and more, ensuring their loved ones can remain living in their own homes and communities for as long as possible. New York State’s 2.2 million family caregivers provide an estimated 2.1 billion hours of care for older parents, spouses, and other loved ones each year. These family caregivers need increased services and resources to support them in their labor of love.
