As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans—including many older adults—may not receive their monthly food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

They will demonstrate how to make some of our favorite holiday desserts with a healthy new twist. Starting with sweet potato pie, then moving on to pound cake, and following with bread pudding.
AARP members and guests can join us for a FREE virtual exhibition: A New Light on Tiffany! presented by The New-York Historical Society. This virtual exhibit shines a new light on 100 illuminated Tiffany lamps displayed in a dramatically lit gallery. Learn about artistic genius Louis C. Tiffany and Clara Driscoll, head of the Women’s Glass Cutting Department, discovered to be the designer behind some of the firm’s most renowned leaded glass shades. Driscoll and her staff are known as the “Tiffany Girls.”
