Four South Dakota communities recently received AARP Community Challenge Grants for quick-action livability projects.
Funding awarded for quick action projects in Brooke, Pocahontas and Taylor counties
At  AARP, Livable Communities offer safe, walkable streets; age-friendly housing and transportation options; access to needed services; and opportunities for residents of all ages to participate in community life; and we know that Pennsylvania communities are working to become more livable for residents of all ages.
We’re excited to announce that four organizations throughout Iowa will receive a combined $86,775 in 2022 Community Challenge grants – part of the largest group of grantees to date with $3.4 million awarded among 260 organizations nationwide.
The Community Challenge Grant Program will support projects in Cheyenne and Casper.

Today, AARP Connecticut announced three organizations throughout the state will receive 2022 Community Challenge grants – part of the largest group of grantees to date with $3.4 million awarded among 260 organizations nationwide. Grantees will implement quick-action projects that help communities become more livable in the long-term by improving public places; transportation; housing; diversity, equity and inclusion; digital access; and civic engagement, with an emphasis on the needs of adults age 50 and over.
Eighty-four percent of voters 50 and older support expanding the tax credit for Wounded Warrior caregivers to all family caregivers who care for older loved ones.
