  • In advance of Veterans Day, AARP is kicking off a three-part series of events to support Veterans and Military Families. Check out the calendar and resources below.
  • Medicare Parts A and B, veterans earned benefits, prescription drug coverage and supplemental coverage: navigating benefits can be complex and often confusing. Revisit our October show on Rural America Live for information and resources to help sort through the confusion.
  • LeBlanc has been director of the Laramie County Senior Center since February of 2020. The Laramie County Senior Center served close to 40,000 congregate meals in 2023, one of three programs offered under the Laramie County Senior Services Program. In its supportive services program, the Senior Center offers help to nearly 9,500 Laramie County residents.
  • Schatz is no stranger to volunteering for AARP, or various other groups in Sheridan County. The long-time Sheridan-area educator spent six years on the AARP Wyoming Executive Council and is a key member of the Sheridan Community Action Team. Last year he was nominated for the Andrus Award honoring the state’s top volunteer age 50 and over.

  • Every veteran deserves to be honored for their service and sacrifice. Wish of a Lifetime from AARP Wyoming celebrates veterans 65 and older with a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Washington, D.C., to see the monuments and memorials built to honor their service and sacrifice. Over four days, the veterans develop meaningful connections as they share unforgettable moments while reflecting upon their service to our country.
  • Connect with AARP New York while celebrating National Family Caregivers Month! Family caregivers are the backbone of the long-term care system. Caregivers provide vital services to New Yorkers, from helping with grocery shopping to meal preparation, transportation, and more, ensuring their loved ones can remain living in their own homes and communities for as long as possible. New York State’s 2.2 million  family caregivers provide an estimated 2.1 billion hours of care for older parents, spouses, and other loved ones each year. These family caregivers need increased services and resources to support them in their labor of love.
  • AARP Florida welcomed Yazmin Alfonso as the new Associate State Director of Outreach. Alfonso joins AARP from EVHybridNoire, where she served as Director of Programs and worked to advance inclusive and equitable e-mobility solutions across the U.S.
