Beginning February 1 and continuing through April 15, AARP Foundation is providing free tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service. Since its inception, the program has served more than 50 million taxpayers.
Millions of Americans rely on Social Security and Medicare, and unfortunately, scammers often try to take advantage of that for their own gain. In our look back at trending scams of 2018, we look at two involving these programs, as well as scams involving gift cards as a form of payment.

Voters age 50 and older were the deciding factor in last year’s midterm elections, according to the National Election Pool Exit Poll results. The findings confirmed that 50-plus voters made up the majority of voters at 61% in Mississippi and 56 percent nationally.
