As one of the first Florida cities to join the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities, Tallahassee has been working since 2016 to make itself a community that is livable for people of every age.
Housing is fundamental to quality of life for people of all ages and abilities, family compositions, incomes and backgrounds. Unfortunately safe and stable homes are becoming unattainable for many in our communities. AARP Oregon is working hard on behalf of people 50 plus and their families to expand accessible, affordable and varied housing choices in our states and communities.
AARP Oklahoma livability surveys for the communities of Tulsa, Norman, Shawnee and Vinita have been extended to be open until February 28. The surveys will gather community feedback to determine attitudes and opinions on a variety of topics, such as housing, outdoor spaces, transportation and streets, health and wellness, social participation, educational opportunities, volunteering and civic engagement and job opportunities.

Research shows that volunteering contributes to better health and overall wellbeing. In addition, volunteers are a backbone of our communities.
The 2019 Vision Zero Legislative Breakfast was held on January 31 to present state and city legislative opportunities to make Philadelphia streets safer in 2019.
