The grant program, which is now in its third year, is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which aims to make communities great places to live for everyone.

AARP has opened applications for the 2019 AARP Community Challenge grant program to fund “quick-action” projects that spark change across the country. Now in its third year, the program is part of AARP’s nationwide work on Livable Communities. Grants can range from several hundred dollars for small, short-term activities to several thousand dollars for larger projects.
Sheridan-area residents donated nearly 750 pounds of food to two Sheridan County food banks during the sixth annual Souper Bowl, a food drive led by AARP Wyoming’s Sheridan Community Action Team.
Now through April 13, the AARP Foundation is providing free in-person tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest volunteer-run free tax preparation service.
