What a year we had, thanks to all of the volunteers and members in the state... thank you and consider this an open invite to everyone to join us in 2018!
Here at AARP, we know that you have a lifetime of experience to offer. If you are looking for a way to share it, we can help. As an AARP volunteer within the Hoosier State you will be front and center in helping to achieve meaningful and impactful change at a local, state, and federal level while having fun along the way! Whether your interests lie in fighting fraud and scams, supporting family caregivers, making your community more safe and secure for people of all ages, or ensuring you and your loved ones financial security is sturdy for years to come, volunteering for AARP may be right for you.
A new booklet helps Alabama’s caregivers understand how to manage money on behalf of the loved-ones they are caring for. AARP Alabama, together with other member organizations of the Alabama Interagency Council for the Prevention of Elder-Abuse, prepared this booklet to assist caregivers with the often-challenging issues of money management.
Each day, thousands of Delawareans serve as caregivers for family members. These family caregivers often have full-time day jobs; they return home from work to provide evening care, or dash home at lunch to check in on loved ones. They provide trusted care to those they hold most dear—an emotionally challenging, but critical, role in our society.
AARP Virginia had fun on purpose at Almost Christmas, Movies for Grownups screening. A total of 70 guests shared laughs, popcorn and bottled H2O at the Downing Gross Cultural Arts Center. The movie was a chance for AARP members and non-members to enjoy an afternoon free of the holiday shopping frenzy. This event allowed AARP Southeast Virginia to introduce all the great ways the 50+ plus community can be engaged and empowered through campaigns and events.
