This summer, stay active and engaged with AARP Minnesota. Join us for a bike ride along the Mississippi or around the Chain of Lakes. These events are great opportunities to spend some time outdoors, get some exercise, and meet and connect with other AARP members.
Patient Insight seeks people who are interested in sharing their person health-care experiences. Patient Insight is a small group of people who will help make health care better for their families, friends and neighbors, created by HealthInsight New Mexico. Patient Insight exists to learn from experiences: the best ideas come from people who have been to the doctor, been in the hospital or taken care of someone who is sick. Your input is valuable: HealthInsight New Mexico wants your ideas to help shape their work in making health care better.
Between June 1-29, AARP is hosting Medicare Health Care and You! meetings to learn about some of the challenges facing health care reform and get information about different proposals being discussed in Washington. The sessions are also an opportunity for Iowans to voice their concerns about the future of health care and Medicare, and learn how to get involved in advocacy efforts to strengthen health care coverage for older Iowans. The events are all free and open to AARP members and the general public and include lunch and refreshments.
The Volunteer Transitions Program (VTP) is an emerging program from the Office of Volunteer Engagement (OVE) designed to connect with – and learn from – leadership volunteers who have recently transitioned from their AARP position due to the end of their term or assignment or for their own reasons. One goal of the VTP effort is to express appreciation to leadership volunteers for the dedication and service they have given to advance AARP’s social mission. The effort also helps OVE gather insights about the transitioning volunteer’s personal experiences so that we can ultimately improve the overall AARP volunteer experience. Volunteer leaders engage with this optional program through a confidential online survey and may also choose to participate in a 1:1 conversation with a trained Transitions Liaison (who is also a volunteer) or join AARP’s Alumni Community to stay informed and connected with AARP and one another.
