Volunteering

Meet our volunteers and find opportunities to get involved with our outreach and community service programs.
Nominate a community volunteer for AARP's 2019 Andrus Award! Named after AARP's founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, the Andrus Award honors outstanding individuals in every state who donate their time, skills and passion as a volunteer. Every year we gather at our annual Andrus Awards event and celebrate the dedication of Maryland's wonderful volunteers.
AARP Idaho is pleased to celebrate National Volunteer Week, an annual opportunity to step back and recognize the hardworking volunteers who dedicate their time, talents and passions to improving every corner of this great state. While it is easy to get caught up in statistics – more than 500 exceptional volunteers, thousands of hours of service – it’s the “good” behind those numbers that is truly awesome.
It’s National Volunteer Week and we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate. Here in California we work with some of the most dynamic, motivating and impressive individuals in the Golden State.

The 2018 AARP Maryland Spring Harvest Food Drive was one of the best yet! Because of the integral roles our volunteers played in planning and executing the drive, we were able to engage over 100 volunteers who solicited donations at 14 grocery stores, and assisted with filling local pantry shelves to feed many families in need. We couldn’t have done it without their leadership!
Welcome Spring with AARP in San Diego!
We are inviting all AARP members and anyone else from the general public to join us at any or all of the state’s four state budget hearings this month in Janesville, Oak Creek, River Falls and Green Bay. At each of these hearings we will have an AARP Wisconsin volunteer advocate testify on a specific issue that we would like to see addressed in the state’s 2019-2021 state budget.
