Each year, AARP’s annual Day of Service is a day to give to communities in honor of the victims and survivors of 9/1. Every year, AARP Missouri invites chapters to participate in a multi-layered competition that garners chapters’ monetary rewards for their participation and efforts.
Jeanne Wease of Crown Point has been selected by AARP to receive the 2014 AARP Indiana Andrus Award for Community Service - the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award. Jeanne was recently presented with the award at AARP Indiana’s annual volunteer summit.

Kathryn LeRoy LeBrasseur of Alexandria was presented with the 2014 AARP Minnesota Andrus Award for Community Service at an awards reception held at the Senior Community Center today. The award honors Minnesotans over the age of 50 who are sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of their community members. As part of the award, AARP made a $1,000 donation to the Alexandria Senior Community Center.
Domingo Floresta has been selected to receive the 2014 AARP Nevada Andrus Award for Community Service – the organization’s most prestigious state volunteer award. The award recognizes Floresta’s dedicated, inspiring service to the Las Vegas community as a volunteer leader.
AARP Michigan will present “A Taste of AARP” at the Holiday Inn of Marquette, 1951 U.S. 41 West, from 5-7 p.m. on Nov. 10.
George Higgins – who has spent years helping low-income seniors in Louisville – is the 2014 winner of the AARP Kentucky Andrus Award for Community Service.
