We’re at the mid-point of celebrating Older Americans Month which was has been recognized since 1963. During this special time, it is a chance to pay tribute to the many ways older adults have made sacrifices and contributions to society.
AARP Montana Seeks Nominees for its Most Prestigious Volunteer Award – the ‘Andrus Award for Community Service'
Dental, vision and medical healthcare providers are asked to volunteer their services for Seattle/King County Clinic with Remote Area Medical®: a free 4-day clinic to be held at Seattle Center on October 23 – 26, 2014.

Do you know someone in your community who is a shining example of volunteerism? Show your appreciation by nominating him or her for the 2014 AARP Maryland Andrus Award for Community Service. AARP’s most prestigious Maryland volunteer award recognizes individuals who are sharing their experience, talent and skills in ways that significantly enrich the lives of others. Only one Maryland individual or couple is selected each year.
Long Term Care Ombudsman
One of the largest annual PRIDE events takes place in the Washington, DC area in early June 2014. The Capital Pride Celebration attracts more than 300,000 people and AARP DC will be a Silver Sponsor for the 2014 events. Volunteers are being recruited by AARP DC to ensure the D.C. area is well-represented at the following events:
They're in the community every day - volunteering, making a difference, lending their time and talent to help others in need. They work in food banks and animal shelters, in schools and in hospitals. They are often unsung heroes, working and giving without recognition or thanks - just because it's the right thing to do. If you know an extraordinary volunteer age 50 or older, show your appreciation by nominating him or her for the 2014 AARP Nevada Andrus Award for Community Service!
