The award recognizes outstanding service and is given to a community-minded person 50-plus who most exemplifies the motto of AARP’s founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus, “To serve, not to be served.” The award is given annually to one Californian.

Owensboro’s Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum and Webster County Senior Services selected to receive AARP Community Challenge Grants. Both projects are being funded as part of the fifth annual AARP Community Challenge Grant.

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania – AARP Pennsylvania leadership and staff recently presented Ron and Milly Laible with the Andrus Award at a small, intimate luncheon. In October, Ron and Milly were selected by AARP, the nonprofit organization for people 50 and older, to receive the 2021 AARP Pennsylvania Andrus Award for Community Service, the Association’s most prestigious and visible state volunteer award.
