February is Black History Month and so we're sharing a few of the diverse celebrations and special events taking place throughout our state to honor African-American history and culture. AARP California invites you to attend the inaugural event of the Advocates for African American Elders (AAAE) with special guest Rep. Maxine Waters this Friday, February 1st in Los Angeles.

We're excited about today's announcement by AARP Foundation regarding its founding partnership with L.A. Kitchen, a startup nonprofit founded by Robert Egger of D.C. Central Kitchen. AARP Foundation will contribute one million dollars to the project over the next three years to help fight senior hunger.
